Our Story

How is God calling you to plant new churches? That’s a question asked of two Nebraska pastors at a conference in 2007. When they were seeking God’s direction in prayer they felt God directing them to Columbus.

A few years later another pastor was praying as he passed through Columbus. He too felt God’s prompting to start a new church in the community.

The three of them began strategizing how to make this happen and knew they needed to partner with a church planting organization. That organization was Nexus. Nexus helps identify church planters through a rigorous assessment process. They also provide coaching and training for the planters.

After praying over potential planters, the team contacted Mike Moser who was pastoring in Minnesota at the time. What the team didn’t know was that God spoke to Mike in a dream about starting a new church.

Mike’s family moved to Columbus in January 2014 and began developing a launch team. They began a Bible study within a few weeks and Sunday service followed a few months later.

Mike began looking for someone to lead worship. At the same time, Josh Muehlbauer was feeling God leading him to a new ministry after 4 years in South Dakota. Josh and his family joined the work in June 2014.

There is no doubt that God was working to plant a new church in Columbus, NE!
